Central News Agency (CNA Taipei, June 30) The "2026 Supernova Cup National Table Tennis Championships" has successfully concluded. This year's event was comprehensively upgraded, and in addition to the open elementary school boys' and girls' team divisions, a "Junior High School Co-ed Team Division" and a "Xizhi District Educational Promotion Individual Singles Division" were added, with the hope of popularizing table tennis. The "2026 Supernova Cup National Table Tennis Championships" concluded yesterday at the Xiufeng High School Gymnasium in Xizhi. Over 1,000 athletes engaged in lively competition. The organizers also planned a "Xizhi District Invitational Division - Elementary School Co-ed Team Division" this year, with participation from local schools and table tennis teams, providing a platform for local athletes to exchange and compete. Wang Shih-hao, the executive director of the event, told the media that he hopes to establish a table tennis exchange platform through the Supernova Cup, allowing children, schools, parents, and the community to participate together, and enabling table tennis to continue to take root and develop locally. The newly added "Xizhi District Educational Promotion Individual Singles Division" invited partners who have long supported local education and development, including principals, police instructors, teacher representatives, and parent association presidents, to come together through table tennis exchanges to consolidate local strength. Wang Shih-hao pointed out that this year's event not only invited high-caliber international referees to ensure fairness but also invited a team of Chinese medicine practitioners to be present at the venue, offering free consultations to athletes, coaches, and parents. In the future, table tennis will continue to be used as a medium to integrate education, community, and resources from all sectors to promote more diverse grassroots sports development models.
