Central News Agency (CNA Taipei, June 30) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Bureau of Consular Affairs announced today that starting at 10 AM on July 1, the "Conditional Online Passport Application and Renewal" service will be expanded to include individuals whose passports have less than one year of validity remaining. Additionally, the MOFA's "Online Document Authentication Form System" will officially launch tomorrow, saving time spent filling out forms in person. During a regular press conference this morning, Director-General of the MOFA Bureau of Consular Affairs, Zheng Zhengyong, stated in his business briefing that to facilitate the public's use of the "Conditional Online Passport Application and Renewal" service, the eligibility criteria will be further expanded starting at 10 AM on July 1. This expansion will extend the service to applicants whose passports have less than one year of validity remaining, up from the previous limit of less than six months. Zheng Zhengyong explained that as long as applicants meet three conditions: they are adults with household registration in Taiwan, their current passport has expired or has less than one year of validity remaining and has not been lost (previously less than six months), and the information on their passport's data page has not changed, they can use their Citizen Digital Certificate to apply for a new passport through the MOFA Bureau of Consular Affairs' "Conditional Online Passport Application and Renewal System" (https://epass.boca.gov.tw/Default.html) starting at 10 AM on July 1.
