Central News (CNA Reporter Hsieh Ching-wen Taipei, June 29) Lee Sung-han, a pitcher who graduated from Pingzhen High School, played aluminum bat baseball for all three years of high school. He was selected by the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions in the second round of the draft. He hopes to be a good example, showing everyone that there's no absolute good or bad between wood bat and aluminum bat teams, and that effort will be recognized. In this year's draft, the Lions selected pitcher Lee Sung-han, a graduate of Pingzhen High School, in the second round. Lee Sung-han said he originally expected to be drafted in the third round, so his actual draft position was better than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Regarding his impression of the Lions, Lee Sung-han mentioned that he feels Head Coach Lin Yueh-ping is very protective of his players, and the Lions have a good system for developing pitchers, giving the pitching staff a lot of freedom. He is more familiar with pitcher Ai Yu-yu, also a graduate of Pingzhen High School, and has seen Ai Yu-yu's growth since entering professional baseball. Lee Sung-han was a member of the aluminum bat team for all three years of high school, with his fastest pitch reaching 149 kilometers per hour. He hopes to become a good example, letting everyone know that it's not necessarily true that wood bat teams are always better and aluminum bat teams are always worse. He believes that as long as one works hard to improve, their efforts will be recognized. (Editor: Chen Jen-hua) 1150629 Stand with facts. Your every donation is a force to protect press freedom.
