NPO Clean Ocean Ensemble (Shodoshima Town, Kagawa Prefecture, Co-Representative Directors: Yuki Egawa, Hidenori Tanaka), an organization working to solve the marine debris problem, held an in-house "Ocean Day Study Session" at FineToday Inc. (Minato Ward, Tokyo, CEO: Tetsuro Komori) on June 8, 2026 (Mon). The study session was conducted with the aim of deepening employees' understanding of the connection between the company's business, product containers, and the marine environment, and to encourage each employee to take the lead in considering concrete actions for a sustainable future. Ocean Day Study Session Title Background of the Study Session This study session was planned as an opportunity for FineToday Inc., which promotes the spread of sustainable packaging (4R Policy) through personal care products, and Clean Ocean Ensemble, which aims for zero marine debris with a focus on "collection" and "datafication" in the field, to collaborate and deeply understand the connection between business operations and the natural environment. Program Content On the day, Yuka Kojima, Director and Leader of the External Partner Building Team, and Yusaku Muroya, River Project Leader, from Clean Ocean Ensemble took the stage. In the first half of the lecture, they explained the impact of plastics (PE, PP) used in product containers when they flow into the ocean, and the effort and difficulties involved in recycling waste that has entered the sea. They also introduced the activities of Clean Ocean Ensemble and explained their future initiatives. Participant Feedback The latter half of the session featured active group discussions on themes such as "Reducing Marine Load from a Business Perspective" and "Individual Behavioral Change."
