To address the severe issue of successor shortages among aging business owners, Okayama City has implemented a third-party business succession support program for local SMEs. Offering free matchmaking and expert guidance, the city successfully assisted Ogura Shoten, a long-established seafood wholesaler. The former president, facing health and age concerns, passed the business to a new president with external corporate experience, ensuring the preservation of the company's legacy and opening up new growth opportunities in the market.
