BELLTECHNOS Inc.'s OFFICE110 analyzed consultation data related to multifunction printers (copiers) received from December 7, 2022, to February 28, 2026, and investigated consultation trends regarding purchase and buyout. As a result, out of 851 main consultation logs, 229 consultations were related to purchase and buyout, accounting for 26.9%. This figure surpassed the 157 consultations related to leasing during the same period. This survey aims to clarify the background of the purchase/lease comparison, which is difficult for small and medium-sized business representatives to make when introducing multifunction printers, and to prevent cost comparisons that are biased solely towards the main unit price, as well as to prevent discrepancies in perception after introduction. ■ Background of the Survey While leasing and rentals, which are easy to reduce initial costs, are attracting attention for the introduction of multifunction printers (copiers), actual consultation records also included inquiries such as "I want to buy a used multifunction printer," "I want to introduce it with a one-time purchase instead of leasing," and "I want to compare the total cost of purchase and lease." Background factors include confirmation of the total cost burden with long-term use in mind, anxiety about lease contract periods, the price advantage of used multifunction printers, and interest in post-purchase maintenance. On the other hand, with multifunction printers, the introduction is not the end; after introduction, maintenance contracts, counter charges, toner supply, repair services, delivery and installation fees, and setup fees are also involved.
