Asics Japan will release the basketball shoes "FLOWRUSH (Flow Rush)", worn by contracted player Nanako Tōtō, starting with an advance sale on the Asics online store from July 9, followed by a sequential release at sports shops nationwide from July 16. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 16,280 yen (tax included). This product is a basketball shoe developed for female players to enable stable play even during intense movements. Based on interviews with contracted athletes and top athletes, and considering the unique foot characteristics and playing styles of women, we pursued a balance of ease of movement and comfort on the court. The design supports reduced foot burden and stable movements during play. The upper uses breathable mesh in the forefoot, providing a soft fit that conforms to the foot. By redesigning the collar area, we aimed to improve fit and comfort during play. The midsole employs a design that combines an insole supporting the arch with a structure that suppresses arch collapse, pursuing reduced foot burden. Furthermore, it is equipped with the "Ladies Arch Comfort Structure," which combines cushioning and stability. The entire sole structure, including the outsole, is designed to enhance stability during movement, providing solid support for the feet even during fast-paced play. In addition, by adopting a dedicated last (shoe last) that accommodates the unique foot shape of women (slender ankles and small heels), we have pursued an excellent fit. In terms of design, the upper and collar specifications have been renewed to create a simple and sophisticated impression. This model, reflecting feedback from female players, balances functionality and design. 〇Comment from Nanako Tōtō I feel these shoes have lightness and a good fit, allowing me to play to my speed.
