TAROKO Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the opening of "TAROKO PICKLEBALL Shimo-Nakayama" (hereinafter referred to as "this facility") in late October 2026, utilizing the space under the elevated JR Sobu Line tracks located south of Shimo-Nakayama Station. TAROKO Co., Ltd., the project owner, is a listed company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and operates commercial facilities and sports/leisure facilities in Taiwan and the United States. This facility marks the first full-scale entry into the rapidly growing pickleball market in Japan, with plans for multi-store expansion along major railway lines in the future. Furthermore, this facility will receive comprehensive support from the General Incorporated Association Japan Pickleball Association, from operations to official tournaments, fostering cooperation for the development of pickleball. The courts will feature "Decoturf" (Sumitomo Rubber), a high-performance sports surface with a multi-layer cushioning structure designed to reduce physical stress. This will provide a safe and comfortable playing environment for everyone, from beginners to seniors and competitive players. The facility will open with 2 all-weather courts, with plans to expand to 5 courts in the spring of 2027. Operationally, focusing on lessons and rental court usage, we aim to foster a community-based sports environment that is accessible and affordable for juniors, women, general users, and seniors.
