"Web 3.0" brings to mind a girl with 3.0 vision. -- The new apparel brand "Newtique," which transforms technology terms into girl characters based solely on their sound, officially launched on July 1, 2026 (Wed) at 12:00 JST. The designer is Yosuke Matsuo, formerly of Zabungle. ■ Brand Mechanism Newtique has a role called "The Interpreter." Interpreters do not translate technology terms literally; instead, they create designs starting from the "sound" of the word. They expand on the associations from the sounds remaining at the end or in parts of the word, and transform the resulting images into girl characters. By receiving words based on their sound rather than their meaning, translations not found in dictionaries are born--this is the brand's concept. The Interpreter is Yosuke Matsuo, formerly of Zabungle. The keywords he translates become individual girl designs. ■ Examples of "Misreadings" ● "FinTech" -> Only "Tech" remains in mind, interpreted as "Techno" -> A girl with a tech haircut (in YMO's red outfit) is born. ● "Web 3.0" -> Hearing "3.0" interpreted as visual acuity 3.0 -> A girl with incredibly good eyesight is born. New designs are born with IT keywords as inspiration. ■ Brand Name / Concept The brand name "Newtique" is a coined word combining "New" and "Antique." It interprets novel IT terms with a sense of nostalgic charm. It comically expresses the changing times, where new things quickly become obsolete, through retro-pop girls. ■ First Release Two items: ARC.001 "Fintech Girl" and ARC.002 "Web 3.0 GIRL." T-shirts are ¥6,600 (tax included).
