“Subsidy Flash” (https://hojoki-ke saku.jp/), a service that provides AI-powered search and application support for subsidies and grants across Japan, analyzed the subsidy, grant, and support programs listed on its platform. As of May 10, 2026, it identified 591 programs that include advertising and sales channel development expenses as eligible costs. When searching for financial support for sales channel development, many assume that only advertising and PR expenses are covered. However, among the 591 programs, only nine are limited solely to advertising expenses. Most programs are designed to be applied for together with costs such as equipment, outsourcing, and expert consultation. Businesses can therefore narrow down suitable programs more effectively by first listing what they plan to spend on their overall sales expansion initiative and how much each item will cost. 【Summary of Analysis Results】 (1) For businesses considering building an e-commerce site or exhibiting at a trade show, most programs offer subsidy rates of 50% or higher, allowing them to begin initiatives while keeping their own contribution below half of the investment amount. Programs range in stages from small grants of under 1 million yen to programs worth around 5 million yen, so first deciding “how much can be invested” makes it much easier to narrow down options. (2) There are almost no subsidies that isolate promotional expenses alone.
