Combeez Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yuichiro Yamazaki) announced on June 17 the results of a survey regarding areas where they want AI to be utilized in email newsletters. ▼A Beloved Email Distribution Tool with AI Functions for Everyone▼ https://x.gd/bEsUHX Survey Background AI can be utilized in a wide range of applications, not only for text generation but also for information classification, summarization, recommendation, and layout adjustment. Understanding the intended uses expected by recipients is important for considering valuable AI applications for readers. This survey was conducted to clarify which parts of email newsletters readers wish to see AI utilized in. Survey Results Out of 200 valid responses, "Recommendations of information suited to me" was the most frequent answer with 75 responses (37.5%). This was followed by "Application to readability and design" with 51 responses (25.5%). The responses indicated a trend of expectations for AI to be used for selecting information tailored to readers and for organizing content for better readability, rather than for automatically creating text. What the Survey Results Indicate The results show that what readers seek from AI is not text generation itself, but rather functions that make it easier to find the information they need. It appears important to utilize AI for recommending information based on interests and behavioral history, organizing key points, and adjusting designs for better visibility. Using AI not as a "writer's substitute" but as "support to help readers select information more easily" may be more readily accepted.
