Taikouya Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Kohei Yamamoto) will reopen its wagashi (Japanese confectionery) shop "Taikouya Asakusa Honten," located near Kaminarimon in Asakusa, on July 13, 2026 (Mon). Taikouya, with its origins as a confectionery store founded in 1950, has been selling wagashi that evoke Japan's seasons and culture, including hon warabimochi, strawberry daifuku, daifuku mochi, sakura mochi, kashiwa mochi, and sanshoku dango. With this renovation, themed "Onkochishin of Japanese Style," the shop will be reborn as a place that cherishes the charm of traditional wagashi while proposing new ways to enjoy them that fit modern Asakusa tourism. Inside the store, each wagashi is envisioned as a "stage actor," aiming to create a space where customers can enjoy the very act of choosing their sweets. The pine tree painting in the background is hand-painted by an artisan who also creates stage backdrops for Kabuki and Noh performances. By incorporating the Japanese aesthetic of Asakusa and elements of stage art, the colors, shapes, seasonality, and narrative of wagashi are further enhanced. We aim to create a shop where the time spent choosing wagashi, taking photos, and selecting souvenirs for loved ones becomes a cherished memory of Asakusa. Furthermore, to commemorate the renovation and reopening, a special event "'Okada wo Oe!!' Oka-chan 1-Day Manager at Taikouya" will be held on July 18, 2026 (Sat.) with Oka-chan, known from the YouTube channel "Okada wo Oe!!." On the day, Oka-chan will serve as the 1-day manager at the storefront and greet customers. As limited collaboration products, we will offer dorayaki with the "Okada wo Oe!!" brand mark, hon warabimochi, and original shopping bags. These limited collaboration products will be sold for a limited time only on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19. Customers who purchase the products will be eligible for two-shot photos and autograph sessions. ◆Event Overview - Event N
