In recent years, efforts to reduce plastic usage have been progressing in various fields, including hotels and commercial facilities. Furthermore, against the backdrop of changes in the international situation, interest in diversifying raw material procurement sources is also increasing. In response to these circumstances, Nippon Paper Industries has started proposing sanitary bags primarily made of paper. The paper sanitary bags proposed this time are available in the following two types, in response to the need to reduce plastic usage: 1. "Lumina" Type: Possible to manufacture bags using only paper This type uses Nippon Paper Industries' functional paper, "Lumina." "Lumina" is a functional paper to which a heat-sealable layer is applied using water-based coating technology. It is possible to manufacture bags using only paper, without the use of plastic film. This specification significantly reduces plastic usage compared to conventional plastic sanitary bags. 2. Composite Material Type: Considering Cost Balance This design combines the minimum necessary film with an increased amount of paper. It achieves both environmental consideration through paper use and cost balance. Nippon Paper Industries will continue to broadly develop various paper-based proposals for hotels and commercial facilities, not limited to sanitary bags, by responding to such social demands and leveraging the characteristics of paper. *"Lumina" is a registered trademark of Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.
