Yachiyo Green Energy Corporation (headquartered in Taito-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Mizuno) has concluded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with Sanvillage Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshiyuki Mimura) for a grid-scale battery energy storage facility planned for construction in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture (hereinafter "the Project"). This Project marks the second collaboration between the two companies, following the earlier battery storage project in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture. 1. Background and Objectives of the Project In recent years, while renewable energy adoption has rapidly increased as part of global climate change mitigation efforts, the growing share of variable renewable sources—whose output fluctuates due to weather conditions—has introduced new challenges for stable power grid operations. Grid-scale battery energy storage systems play a critical role in storing surplus electricity and balancing supply and demand. They are essential infrastructure for resolving these challenges and enabling the maximum possible integration of renewable energy. Yachiyo Green Energy Corporation positions grid-scale battery storage as one of its core growth businesses and will actively promote the development and operation of such projects across Japan as a power generation operator. 2. Overview of the Project Location: Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture (within Chubu Electric Power's service area) Storage Capacity: 2 MW / 8 MWh (high-voltage) Scheduled Completion: November–December 2026 Completion Image ■ About Yachiyo Green Energy Corporation Yachiyo Green Energy Corporation is sincerely addressing today’s societal challenges and responding to growing societal demands for decarbonization.
