The G Spatial Information Center (https://front.geospatial.jp/) is Japan's largest distribution platform for geospatial information, aggregating and sharing geospatial data held by national and local governments, research institutions, and private companies, and providing an environment where anyone can utilize this data. The center offers open data and geospatial information used across various fields such as disaster management, urban planning, infrastructure management, research and development, and business. G Spatial Information Center Homepage The G Spatial Information Center is now trial-launching, starting June 29, 2026, a new chat-based function for searching and downloading data, making data access even easier. In addition to searching by dataset names or keywords as before, users can now input natural-language queries similar to everyday conversation, such as: "I want to find open data related to disasters" "I want to download the PLATEAU 3D urban model" "I want to download the Legal Affairs Agency registered map data for City ○○" This enables intuitive searching for desired datasets. Moreover, users can now collectively download multiple relevant datasets directly from search results, enabling more efficient data acquisition. Please note that, to ensure stable service for all users, this trial service imposes download limits based on user categories.
