PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 30, 2026) – Philadelphia, the birthplace of America, will be the epicenter of the nation's 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026, marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This historic city, which will host numerous world-class major events, including sporting events, and is the first city in the United States to be designated a "UNESCO World Heritage City" with 67 National Historic Landmarks, continues to play a central role in America's identity as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary. ■ Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary, Philadelphia Style The Museum of the American Revolution, the National Constitution Center, and the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History are currently hosting new special exhibitions focused on America's 250th anniversary. On July 3rd, Pope Leo XIV, the first American-born Pope in the history of the Roman Catholic Church, will visit Philadelphia, home to his alma mater, Villanova University, and will be honored with the Liberty Medal on stage.
