The site is advantageously located approximately 15km from Sapporo City, the largest consumer market in Hokkaido, and the surrounding area is home to a cluster of refrigerated/frozen warehouses and transportation companies handling frozen/temperature-controlled goods. This project involves the construction of a refrigerated/frozen warehouse with a total floor area of approximately 3,000 tsubo in Zenibako, Otaru City, within the Ishikari Bay New Port Area. It aims to address the challenges in Hokkaido's refrigerated/frozen logistics, which are strained by the aging of existing warehouses, the increase in frozen food consumption, and the stagnation of facility upgrades and replacements due to soaring construction costs. This initiative is positioned as part of the Daiwa Building Group's Mid-to-Long-Term Management Plan 2035 "BUILD NEXT.", specifically under the "Domestic Business Strategy - Expansion of Asset Types" which involves investing in logistics real estate*. It also contributes to creating synergy with the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group, which plays a key role in logistics, primarily through maritime transport.
