[July 2, 2026] Qantas (Headquarters: Sydney, CEO: Vanessa Hudson) has launched "Qantas Economy Plus" on its Airbus A330 aircraft. This provides customers with more comfortable and flexible travel options on international routes to major Australian cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Qantas Economy Plus will be available for booking on A330 operated flights departing on or after September 18, offering customers a comfortable start to their journey with ample space. The A330 aircraft will undergo sequential refurbishment by September. The number of Economy Plus seats will vary by aircraft type, with 58 seats planned for the A330-200D, 50 seats for the A330-200LR, and 56 seats for the A330-300. Nick McGlinn, Qantas's Senior Vice President, Asia, stated that expanding Qantas Economy Plus to the A330 aircraft will provide customers in the Asian region with even more flexible travel options than before. "As the demand for premium travel experiences grows rapidly across Asia, Qantas is committed to continuing to provide the comfortable and high-quality air travel that our customers expect. We are delighted to offer even more choices to our customers in Japan by providing benefits such as increased legroom, priority boarding, and priority baggage storage as a single service." Qantas Economy Plus is currently available on the airline's A321XLR, Boeing 737, and Airbus A220 aircraft. Compared to standard economy class, it offers up to 40% more legroom, as well as benefits such as priority boarding and priority use of overhead baggage space. Furthermore, Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum One and Platinum members can use Economy Plus for free at the time of booking. Gold members can use it for free starting 24 hours before departure (subject to seat availability in all cases). Customers traveling on the same booking as elig
